John Howell, DVM
Dr. John Howell (Doc) graduated from Tuskegee University in Alabama with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. After graduation, he worked in Manhattan at the Henry Berg Memorial Hospital where he obtained valuable experience in small animal medicine and surgery. He also assisted the ASPCA in their regulation of the New York City carriage horses.

Dr. Howell began his first practice at a vet hospital in Mt. Vernon, NY. Approximately six years later, he opened Yonkers Animal Hospital. Dr. Howell's 'petside' manner has endeared him to the many clients that entrust Yonkers Animal Hospital with their beloved companions.

Dr. Howell has a wife and two children and is an avid tennis player and enthusiast.

Gerald Givan, DVM
Dr. Gerald Martin Givan (Dr. G) grew up in Hollis Queens, New York with his three siblings. Ever since he was a child, he has had a passion for the well being of animals inspiring him to become a veterinarian.

He attended Andrew Jackson High School and was accepted to Tuskegee University after graduation. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science in 1983 and continued on to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1988.

Dr. G has been a veterinarian at Yonkers Animal Hospital for over 19 years. He resides in upstate New York with his wife and three children and is an avid golfer.

Christina Mendelsohn, DVM
Dr. Mendelsohn graduated in 1997 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Ross University...where, incidentally, she met her husband Gary.

After completing a 1-year internship specializing in medicine and surgery, Dr. Mendelsohn spent the next five years operating an emergency clinic with Gary that they opened together.

In 2004, Dr. Mendelsohn assumed the position of Attending Surgeon at Yonkers Animal Hospital. She is married with two children, Max & Isaac.
